A truly magnificent performance from wolves to close the season left them desperately unlucky to be narrowly beaten by the same team that had thrashed them so comprehensively earlier in the season. A well taken corner from James Cowen led to Joshua Nelson giving Wolves a shock early lead with a low shot through a crowded penalty area into the bottom left hand corner of the goal. Maiden responded almost immediately with a well taken equaliser and moments later almost went ahead. Only a bizarre piece of good fortune involving Kian Haley's knee, a nasty bounce and the crossbar kept the ball out. After half time Garjay Thompson went excruciatingly close and Joe Silvani forced a tremendous save from the Maiden goalie. The scores remained level until five minutes from the end when another unfortunate bobble gave Maiden the lead against the run of play and, despite further fine efforts by Joe Silvani and James Cowen, held on for a 2-1 win. With Wolves short of players for the second week running against one of the top teams (they started with eight which by half time had become ten) it was always gonna be tough. Joe Silvani scored a miraculous lob from within his own half to make the score four one at half time and Mohammed Aadil in his new striking role stunned Wanstead Flats with a right foot volley after an impressively long throw by Connor Benoit-Milner to make the final score 9-2.

Nine man Wolves battled stoutly against the league leaders Interwood. One magnificent run from Billy Kinkaid and a volley wide by Joshua Nelson were as close as we came to piercing a very strong Interwood defence. A top class performance for the second week running by new goalkeeper Kian Haley kept the score down to 8-0.
